After driving 1642 miles we finally came to a place where we will be staying put for a few days. We are staying in Medora, ND. It is basically a small tourist town that leads to the entrance of Teddy Roosevelt National Park. Teddy Roosevelt loved this area of North Dakota and had a ranch here. Not only is the National Park named after him, but many activities in the town are centered around him. This weekend they are having about 10 Teddy Roosevelt look alike men roaming the town and participating in activities, including a parade. The town has many other activities going on this weekend and we hope to participate in several of them.
The campground we are staying at is called the Medora Campground. It borders the Little Missouri River, which is a tributary of the Missouri River. The campground is full of cottonwood trees which give us plenty of shade; however, they only had a 20 amp site for us to pull into. At 20 amps, we probably won't be able to run our air conditioner. The good news is that the weekend forecast shows highs is the 70's and lows in the 50's, so we really won't need an air conditioner.
